This is a beautiful tenor from Pono Ukulele. Their cedar top mahogany tenor has been popular choice for many years. It's a pro level tenor at a semi affordable price. Really superb quality and including the arched top wooden hardshell case for an overall fantastic value. This is the new 2018 version but without the side port, which makes it a bit less expensive than the SPO model and as you can hear it sounds great.
The mahogany series is the lightest weight Pro Classic and has some of the most loved tone woods. This one features a western red cedar top for a clean, clear response and excellent projection. It's coupled with instrument grade Honduran mahogany for the body and neck. The tone is clear and sweet with excellent balance.
Other woods used for this model are the very expensive and much loved Macassar ebony, giving a classy look and long term stability. Kalei gives a raw sound sample of the new slotted headstock cedar mahogany Pono Pro Classic tenor.
This sample is with a high G but this uke sounds great with a low G as well. Just let us know in the special instructions if you would like it with a low G setup.
This tenor slothead has punchy but sweet tone, a radius fretboard for the ultimate feel. It comes with a lightweight dual action truss rod for long term neck adjustment and includes a Pono hardshell wooden case. In this price range, you'd be hard pressed to find a better tenor.
Pono only uses solid woods, only bone nut and saddle. wood bindings, no plastics. They have a climate controlled factory on the island of Java and diligently aim for perfection on every level. It shows! This is a Pono factory tour video we shot in March 2017.
Comes with Hardshell Case. Photos and video are stock typical.
