First Taropatch Kiwaya!
This is a vintage-style taropatch 12-fret mahogany concert 8 string from the wonderful crafsmen at Kiwaya. I was excited to see one at NAMM and even more excited when I felt how easy it was to play and heard its beautiful, "open" voice. It's like the vintage Martin Taropatch and even lighter in weight with better balance and with a slightly wider nut width for easier play. Some people think 8 string is harder to play, and most are, but this one with the shorter concert scale, excellent construction for low action, and final setup make this one quite easy. And the tone is so full and unique.
This is an excellent value in an all-solid mahogany instrument with a superb build quality. Take a listen as Corey gives us a "raw" sound sample from this beautiful uke.
