I purchased this from HMS and the setup was perfect, though the string tension on is a bit loose with the stock strings, so that means you need to use a lighter touch when playing this one... I have looked for alternative strings to use but so far have had no luck. I think Kamaka makes an 8 string baritone so I might try their strings on this Kala to see if they add a bit more tension. As for sound, this is an amazing instrument, giving you a sort of 12-string guitar sound with the warmth of nylon strings... The 8 string baritone is really ideal for bluegrass and blues playing more than traditional ukulele style.
