The sweet sounds of the Mango Pono Ukulele!
This new model from Pono is only available in a limited quantity. They feature beautiful instrument grade mango wood that gives a warm, sweet tone, and unique, natural look. More relaxed in tension and lighter in projection from a tenor, concert can really hit the spot. Mango looks extra woody in this clear satin lacquer. And the sound, perhaps the warmest of any Pono concert.
Pictures show the exact ukulele available here. Kalei gives us a sound sample of this same model MGC.
This instrument was built on the Indonesian Island Java by Ko'olau 's talented Pono craftsman. They continue to impress us. The build quality is professional and the tone is warm and punchy.

My favorite so far 0 people found this helpfulThis is my 4th ukulele. My soprano was too small. The tenor was too big. The carbon fiber one I'll keep for travel as I like its concert size. It took 3 tries to figure out Concert is best for me. It's set up perfect. I had the strings changed to low g brown worth. I'd definitely buy from The Ukulele Site again.

Lovely instrument 0 people found this helpfulPurchased this instrument with an K&K passive pickup installed and low G Aquila Red strings. I'm pretty sure the description is inaccurate, and that this has an ebony fingerboard rather than rosewood. Otherwise, it is some intensely dark rosewood. Feels quality, has great tone. Doesn't project quite as much as my Kala SMH-C, but that may owe a lot to the string choice (Red versus Super Nylgut). Overall, a lovely instrument to play.
