It took 60 years for Gretsch to get back into it, but they have truly brought an amazing value to the market with their new ukulele line-up. A cool vintage vibe and a beautiful ring. I absolutely love them and know you will too!
Gretsch ukes from the 40's and 50's are well known for having excellent tone and construction. WIth their new production they have copied their classic look, and voiced them like you rarely find at this affordable price . After our setup work, this tenor is unbeatable!
Corey gives us a "dry" sound sample. We use transparent audio recording equipment and are dedicated to showing true tone.
Note: there is a vintage style "handmade" look to these "Roots Series" models from Gretsch. The aesthetic is often less than perfect. Rest assured, we reject any medium to major blemishes, but if you look hard enough you will see slight differences in shade for small areas of the stained mahogany and they sometimes show slight sandpaper brushes under the finish at parts, both of which you can see this in the pictures if you look for it. This is also common in their vintage ukes though and for many, part of this models charm. We mention it though to say, this model isn't for those looking an ukulele that is cosmetically flawless. However, we choose to offer it for a reason. It's a good sounding tenor with a retro look at a very affordable price.
To have the most fun you need an ukulele that has been set up to be it's best. Our team truly works on these instruments so that they play like they just came from a custom shop in Hawaii. (because they did).
This model is popular and, while we try to keep it in stock, we often sell out before more are available, act now to get this fine quality tenor with our custom setup!
