Ko’olau strings first became popular with this line- The Ko’olau Golds. This is one of the preferred by many for their concert ukulele. It has clarity and projection, but retains the body and warmth of the sounds. The feel is smooth with no sound or squeak as you slide along the fretboard.

The best thing to do is try a number of different strings and see which one sounds best on your ukulele. If you have a number of ukes you may find you prefer different brands or variations of strings because each ukulele reacts differently to the same strings. The only draw back is these strings take a while to stretch out and stay in tune. But it’s worth it!
