  1. Manley Custom Steel 8 String Tenor
    $3,000.00

In his workshop in Didsbury, at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta Canada, Jake Peters designs and builds exquisite hand-crafted stringed instruments. These instruments are one of a kind with extreme attention to detail. Dedication to his craft and extensive knowledge are reflected in the artistry of his custom, hand-made instruments. Jake normally only builds on commission but decided to make a few for us to share with you here.

This one features the beautiful bear claw spruce top and spalted maple sides and back bound in koa. The neck is also maple with a Hawaiian pheasant wood center strip. It's 8 doubled string G C E A, just like normal uke. What you get a totally unique tone we think you'll love.

It's finished in a beautiful nitrocellulose finish. Take a listen to this interview and demo with the builder, Jake Peters.

Jake's luthier training started early - watching his mom and uncle repair acoustic instruments. In his teen years, he began learning the art of inlay. He later worked with Jean Larrivee cutting mother of pearl and abalone. Jake enrolled in the luthier course offered by Dave Freemen of Timeless Instruments in 1985. An intense 7-week course taught by a world-class luthier. Since then he's been making custom instruments and we are so glad he found the ukulele. This is a fantastic and very unique tenor and we think you'll be inspired to make new beautiful music with it.

Pictures and video show the exact instrument now available! Includes Oahu Fiberglass Hardshell Case and Oasis Humidifier.
