Solid Acacia Wood -Gloss Finish Pro level concert tone!!

This is a beautiful Concert with just the right touches. Figured Acacia wood shown off by the perfect gloss finish taken to around .004" of an inch so that it protects for many years and still does not inhibit vibration. Ebony fingerboard and bridge upgrade the look, sound, and durability of your instrument. Gotoh designed Pono tuning keys give smooth and accurate fine tuning. And notice how proportionate the ebony button on the tuning key is. This is easier to tune and looks more balanced. Much more elegant than the bigger buttons you sometimes see.

These are the best ukes being imported and this model is a prime example of their professional build quality and sound quality. Be the first to get this new model, you will love it!

Photos and video show stock typical.

Acacia is a family of trees that Hawaiian Koa belongs to. This is not Hawaiian Koa but comes from a very similar species found throughout Asia. This instrument was built on one of the Indonesian Islands with hands on guidance and quality control from the Ko'olau Ukulele Company. These are constructed by the finest instrument makers and to Ko'olau specs and design. This Gloss finish and woods used on this model are gorgeous. We were happy to hear these, because they are impressive with tonal character! *This is a great value*

    Options

When you buy this ukulele you can get a UkeCrazy gig bag or canvas covered hard case at an additional discount.  (Not required but suggested.) The UkeCrazy gig bag and canvas covered hard case can be seen in our cases category under the accessories tab at the top of this page. Other cases can also be chosen there.

One of the options for this ukulele is to trade out the Herco HE-360, included humidifier, for the more expensive Oasis Ukulele Humidifier (OH-18) at a discount. This is required if you live in a low humidity area.(parts of California, Nevada, Arizona, etc..) or also areas with winter seasons, especially if you are heating the air in your house. For more info refer to the ukulele care link at the bottom of this page. If you think you need to humidify the instrument, then you also need a hard case for a humidifier to properly work, and you need to maintain the humidifier by refilling it as needed.

5 stars and would throw a few more in.
I love my Pono it is so wonderful the color, grain, and workmanship it is just beautiful and it plays so well I can hardly put it down. I would recommend this to anyone. Also the ukulele site did a great job on the set-up I could not ask for better business than what I got with them thanks to all.

    Good value
Build quality on par with my Ko'Olau concert. Both sound warm, Pono was not as loud. Overall good quality, without the price of a K brand.

    Closer to the high end
This uke may be a bit quieter than others, but by no means "muted" or "blocked", as someone wrote here. Compared to our other concerts, it is in every aspect much closer to the Kanilea K1-C than to the Kala KA-C: Beautiful solid wood, impeccable gloss finish, clear ringing notes, excellent balance, perfect intonation. So if you are not ready yet to spend a lot more money on a Hawaiian made uke, this may be your best choice. You might, however, also consider a tenor from Pono, as we think their building specs are particularly favorable for larger instruments.

    High quality instrument
I was a little concerned of to buy from a store so distant, but during all process, the store staff was very attentive and my uke came on scheduled time. I'm very satisfied and the Uke itself, is a great instrument, very well finished and with a great sound. I'm impressed with the awsome sound for the price I've payed.

Nice entry ukulele to the solid wood category
In my search for a solid wood ukulele, this was one of my choice.

When I hold it in my hands, it felt really solid built.

    The grains are nice!

When I strum it, it sounded kind of muted. It sounded like the ukelele was blocked by a wall or something. The sustain wasn't obvious too.

The neck is a bit thick for my liking. It feels like a miniature classical guitar neck if you know what I mean.

I heard and read on the forum that the sound will change after some time and it will sound sweeter than ever.

I guess it's a huge investment for me that's why I seek instant gratification and chose a Koaloha over it.

Overall, this is a great build, solid ukulele.

I'm sure it will mature over time and the sound would grow to be perfect to some individual. My friend's pono AC sounded pretty ok after playing daily for 4 months.

    excellent tone
Bought this in June. Exquisite wood grain, finish, and rich tone. Low action makes it a dream to play. I am a beginner and this really made learning so much fun!

    Not good.
I got it yesterday and i had to wait 15days from u.s.a to u.k.
Mine has too serious buzzing. Specially, fist string and third string.
I thought it was occured by strings so i chagned original strings to aquila strings but.. the buzzing did not change and rose ..big,
The problem was from nut furrows. The nut' furrows are too deep for first and third string.
I had to fix it my self. It it better now.
    However, I disappoint.
No value, Not good set up work..(I believe seller did not set up work.)
