This custom Grimes was bought about a year ago by a collector that needed to move some instruments. This one is in new condition and features Amazon Rosewood/German spruce, Koa rosette, mahogany neck, maple binding, ebony fretboard and bridge, and rosewood burl peghead overlay. The wood is upgraded and also has a side port. The setup is perfect and it sounds amazing.
Aaron gives us a sound sample. Review from our latest podcast on Youtube.
Amazonian Rosewood (Dalbergia spruceana) has a similar color and is most comparable tone-wise to Brazilian Rosewood. This one has more figuring than most Amazon rosewood and the tone with this tight-grained German spruce top is awesome.
