Islander Tenor Solid Spruce Top KSTCUT-4
- Product Review (submitted on December 24, 2012):
- I was looking for a non-amped ukulele to play in hospital, nursing home and similar settings where I volunteer when heard about Kanilea Islander's KSTCUT Tenor. I bought one and have been awed by this instrument! It is loud but mellow and not brash. It allows the playing of various genres without sounding boring. The KSTCUT is well made, stays in tune, and has a cutaway for those wanting to play way up the neck. The tuners are substantial, the one piece neck is smooth and comfortable. From the satin finish to the maple binding to the abalone sound hole trim, to the maple strip up the back of the body, there is elegance and detail that makes this ukulele a fine looking instrument. I do wish it had a pick guard though. I play only using bare fingers but I have noticed that my nails are leaving their mark on the spruce top. Overall, I can't say enough good things about this wonderful ukulele. I'm retired, haven't won the lottery, and need a great sounding instrument that won't break the bank. This is it. The KSTCUT Tenor is a VERY BEST BUY!
