It's hard to be critical of great-sounding instrument that also happens to be gorgeous...

I bought this model after trying it out at a couple different stores, as well as the same model without the gloss finish. It's got a nice warm sound, which then got even more playful and punchier when I changed to a set of d'addarrio strings. The profile is a tiny bit wider and shallower than my other uke, which is still taking a little getting used to. The action is also high enough that it's easy for me to buzz on barred chords if I'm not fretting them tightly enough.

I wanted a pickup too, and got the one installed by Kanilea itself (as recommended). It's nice and loud, picking up everything -- though does not include volume/tone controls, since they didn't cut into the wood on the side of the uke to install it... just only little hole at the bottom.
