Product Review (submitted on December 27, 2012):
With so many glowing reviews it's obvious this is a fantastic instrument for the price.
I was reluctant at first as I find mahogany to be a boring and rather plain wood and went back and forth between this one and the Pono Acacia Tenor. In the end, sound won out and I went with this model and couldn't be happier.
My Pono is strung with Ko'olau Mahana strings which have a wound G and C string. The sound is mellow and just what I was looking for. I think I'll end up trying an unwound set of strings eventually for comparison as I'm not sure if I like the feel of the wound strings.
I will eventually be adding a concert uke to the collection and Pono will be at the top of the list of candidates.
