Product Review (submitted on December 24, 2012):

As a new uke player, I've been searching the web for all sorts of info and deals on cases. I originally bought a traditional guitar-style hard-shell case from another company because the pics of this case seemed to indicate it wouldn't be very sturdy. Also the shape didn't appeal to me much as it seemed more suitable for a violin. But after receiving this case I quickly returned the other.

I was really surprised by how incredibly light weight it is. I'd expect that something this light would be pretty flimsy. But it's stiff foam and nylon construction seems durable enough for my needs. As I'm not piling heavier guitar cases or gear on it in the car or for travel, I don't really have to worry about crushing it. The canvas cover is plenty durable and the exterior accessory pocket is large enough to hold a copy of Sakuma's Treasury Of Ukelele Chords Book. There's plenty of room in the interior storage compartment for misc tuners, stings, humidifiers, etc.

The straps are a big plus for slinging it over the shoulder or across my back, leaving my hands free for a guitar and music stand, or amp.

Originally I found the zipper flap at the handle a bit annoying, but I found it's actually a plus in that I often put the instrument in the case for short periods of time while I'm playing or working on something. The velcro helps seal it and keeps me from dumping the uke out if I pick it for some reason.

Also, while the neck straps help keep the uke in place and the plush interior protects it well, its not a snug fit for my tenor. Nevertheless, it's not going anywhere or getting banged around inside.

All in all, its a great case for the price and it fits my needs nicely.
