Product Review (submitted on September 23, 2015):

Really wonderful instrument. My first ukulele but I have been playing guitar for over twenty years. Anybody that's purchased a high end guitar knows that any single model can vary depending on component specifics and natural variation. Also, it makes a big difference who you purchase it from. I had intended on purchasing a "real" uke locally after buying my toddler a Makala Waterman and discovering how fun it was to screw around with. My local guitar shop is very well regarded for their set ups and is quite often used by professionals for their guitar work and customizations. The owner can quickly get back logged and a servicing can take a couple months for non-professionals that don't rely on their guitars to make their living. Unfortunately their selection was pretty lacking and when I asked them what sort of care and set up their ukes got the response wasn't really to my liking. I was given an honest answer and told they pretty much go out the way they come in. I had been doing some research and came across this site. Like most people I suspect, I was really impressed by the passion that has been put into presenting their love for these instruments. I'm a pretty optimistic person and figured to much work goes into this site with all the videos and reviews for them to be trying to fool anyone and pulled the trigger on what I hoped would be a good representation of what an honest low frills traditional uke should be. As someone who really values fret work and playability, I don't believe I could have made a better choice. I might be convinced I should have bought a different uke but I doubt I could be convinced I could have purchased from a better retailer. The set up, just as others have reported, is phenomenal. The uke itself is simple looking and sounds complex. I'm really shocked at the tone this thing gives off. I had it set up with a low G and can't believe the resonance this instrument is capable of. You really feel it. It's so thick you can almost bite it. Can't think of anything else at the moment to add except to say that if your on the fence stop waiting, your wasting time. Instead of looking you could be playing one of these awesome instruments!
