New model from Pono gives Amazing tone and Gorgeous looks!

This is a brand new version of the ATD but with the cutaway body style for easier access to the highest frets and a cedar top for ultimate tone. The ATDC-CR, now in limited quantity.

This new model from Pono carries many of the Pro Classic features but with a lower price point. Cedar adds projection and range to the warmth, and the woods and finish are better than ever. It also has the radius fretboard, a slight curve that makes it more comfortable, especially when barring chords. It's wonderful to be able to offer this level of quality at this price. Take a listen to a "raw" sound sample of this new Pono tenor.

This is a pro level Tenor ukulele. It has richness in the sounds and sustains wonderfully. You can play it with dynamics and it can work with any style of music. Perfect for a low G to get that nice deep sound. Or with a high G, giving clarity and brighter overtones. This beautiful solid wood tenor ukulele has it all! A refined classic style, glossy exotic woods, and a beautiful voice hitting all the right frequencies. The ATDC-CR is an excellent value in a professional quality tenor ukulele. We are sure you will agree!

A key feature in all of the Pono tenor and baritone models is the dual-action adjustable truss rod. This is used to stabilize and adjust the lengthwise forward curvature (also called relief), of the neck. It can be adjusted from right inside the soundhole with an allen wrench provided. This is something you will probably not need to adjust. But over time and with humidity changes, it is a very useful option to have, and a very easy thing to adjust.

Acacia is a family of trees that Hawaiian Koa belongs to. This is not Hawaiian Koa but comes from a very similar species found throughout Asia. This instrument was built on one of the Indonesian Islands with hands on guidance and quality control from the Ko'olau Ukulele Company. These are constructed by the finest instrument makers and to Ko'olau specs and design. This Gloss finish and woods used on this model are only the finest. And, we are happy to hear the impressive tonal character!

We always include a humidifier with solid wood instruments. Please upgrade to the Oasis humidifier if you live in a dry climate or in an area that experiences cold winter seasons.

Beautiful ukulele, however the one I received didn't have the ebony binding on top (unbound throughout). A very minor issue, but still... Anyhow, sounds great and will surely open up even more. Good, solid neck.

Thanks to Cory and Aaron for helping me decide which Ukulele to buy in the price range I was willing to spend. I wanted a more expensive one, but this fit the budget and I can tell you it is not a disappointment. The construction and finish is fantastic. Cory had it set up for me with Worth strings and a low wound G string. This Ukulele sounds BEAUTIFUL. Every chord, every note sounds like a harp. It just rings and chimes and sounds very very beautiful. I can just sit and play one chord and listen to it sustain and sound beautiful. The Ukulele is loud but not too loud. Everything seems just right to me. On the setup, the strings came very high like it was not set up at all, but I could tell the frets had been leveled. I sanded the bridge down to where I wanted it to be and tuned her back up. She plays like a dream. I have no complaints about this purchase. If you want a better Ukulele than the box stores sell but don't want to spend $900.00 or more, then this is the one to get. For a little more money then the deluxe model, you get very nice binding and attention to detail, like a ebony heel cap on the neck, gloss finish, rope rosette, sealed Pono tuners, the cutaway. I would recommend this to a friend I want to keep. You wont be sorry if you buy it. Thanks John Fair

This is my first ukulele and I am impressed foremost with the sweet sound of this instrument. The warmth of tone makes this uke a joy to play. Mine arrived with a perfect finish and an equally superlative setup by this shop. I think that the setup of my Pono by HMS equals or perhaps even rivals the local shop's setup of my acoustic guitar. I started with the Worth Brown strings, but now play mine low-G strung with Worth Clear CH-LGEX strings. Similar to another review I read, the Pono's are stoutly built and require a heavier string to bring them alive. The Worth's fit the bill and I can confidently recommend the Clears. Did I mention the sweet, woody, and complex sound offered by the combination of cedar and acacia? I have a single uke that I now play more than my guitar.
