Pono only uses solid woods, bone nut and saddle, wood bindings, and no plastics. Pono has a climate-controlled factory on the island of Java and diligently aims for perfection on every level. Many consider them the best quality under a grand! We do!

I've played bass guitar for around 15 years and decided it was time to expand my musical horizions. I purchased this uke with the expectations that I was going to play it regularly and I also wanted a quality instrument that would last a long time because I did not plan to buy another. This thing is fantastic! I absolutely love it and I play it every other day, at least. The feel and the tone are both great and the guys at theukulelesite are grat to deal with. After purchasing this Baritone I now plan to get a Tenor of the exact same model. If you want a great quality instrument for middle-of-the-road pricing, get one of these. You will not be dissappointed!

This is a very nice Baritone uke for under $1000 that looks, feels and sounds like it costs much more. I have mine strung in the old reentrant G tuning with a high D and it's a killer for folk and bluegrass music. This is my second Pono and I don't think any other uke on the market compares to these dollar for dollar.

Being a guitar player, I am new to the "uke world" having purchased my baritone Acacia/cedar cutaway ukulele a month ago. When it arrived, there wasn't much resonance. . .but, the more I played, the more it "opened-up." Last night I noticed the neck vibrating in my hand with the resonance! It just keeps getting better and better! And, thanks to Aaron and Corey's tutorials, I keep getting better and better as well! As a side note: I was fortunate to purchase this ukulele at almost half price!!! Everyday I checked the specials/used/blemished page and was surprised to find my choice for a ukulele. It was listed as "used 2 weeks" but it arrived looking brand new. . . Awesome! It is a first-rate, quality ukulele. . . the finish, binding, and purfling are smooth as silk. I have to stroke it every time I take it out of the excellent Oahu hard case that came with it. Hawaii Music Supply / The Ukulele Site is the gold-standard when it comes to top quality merchandise and service! Thank you!
