This is the brand new Pro Classic Acacia model from Pono. The Acacia series has been a popular choice at the shop because it plays great and sounds wonderful. They are warmer in tone than many expect from an Acacia ukulele and the build quality is right on point.

This new version features a new wood rosette, gloss body and faceplate, but a smooth satin neck for easy sliding along the fretboard. The weight on these new models is slightly less and the necks are a bit less chunky than previously. All in all this new Pro Classic comes with added improvements in voicing and design at the same price as the previous model.

As you can hear the new AT-PC Pro Classic has a wonderful tone with a full, articulate voice. The sound sample was with the stock Ko'olau Alohi high w 3 set but this would also sound great with a low G set up.

This model, like all new Pro Classics from Pono has a radius fingerboard. It's not an extreme radius and is hardly noticeable until pointed out. But it surely adds to the comfort of play.  Displayed and protected by the cleanest gloss finish yet from Pono. This glassy smooth lacquer finish is extremely strong yet just a few thousandths of an inch thick. This "lets the wood really speak."

Pono only uses solid woods, only bone nut, and saddle. wood bindings, and no plastics. They have a climate-controlled factory on the island of Java and diligently aim for perfection on every level. It shows!

I never purchase an instrument without seeing, feeling and hearing it live....well up until now. Used the videos to narrow my choice down and validated my choice with Zach. He confirmed this Pono along with 5.0 pickup would get the sound I was looking for. Still skeptical, my Pono came in and was exactly the sound I was looking for. This Pono sounds even better plugged in as you can here every beautiful sound. If you're looking for a mellow sound vs that typical airy twang sound, this is the Uke to get. Great sound and she gets a lot of looks. Thanks Zach!

I purchased this ukulele about a year ago, and I love this instrument. This was my first purchase from The Ukulele Site, and was a little nervous about buying an instrument I had never seen, handled, or heard in person. The Ukulele Site demo videos for each instrument were great, and helped me finally take the plunge. And, I am glad I did. This is a wonderful ukulele; easy to play, with a comfortable neck, warm tone (I had it setup with a low G which adds to the rich, warm tone), a slight radius to the neck adds to the nice feel, beautiful Acacia wood with a flawless finish. I have purchased two more ukuleles from the Ukulele Site with similar results.

I was in need for an instrument to play in guitar circle at school. After much research, and trials at stores I decided to buy this ukulele. It is amazing!!! It has a better tone (in my opinion) than some Koa instruments I've tried! In this price range I don't think I could have gotten a better deal. I bruised my fingers pressing too hard on the strings, because my action was so crappy on my old uke. The difference shocked me in a good way. The set-up is fantastic. There is some glue showing inside the instrument, but it's barely even noticeable. 10/10 ukulele! Thanks Guys!

Had this instrument shipped to the mainland. Customer service was very caring and accommodating. Shipping in a very protected package, it arrived in pristine condition. This uke is an excellent value when compared to other brands, once you consider the protective hard case, free shipping and set-up. The instrument itself is beautiful beyond description. Fit and finish are meticulous and of excellent quality. The sound, intonation, sustain, all are superb and make for a very soothing and sweet instrument that demands to be played in particular ways that improve your playing towards precision and below energy. It is naturally soft-voiced but it will respond thunderously if played vigorously. Mine came with a low G and I am still trying to decide whether to keep it that way. It is really fun for playing arpeggios but it does have a bothersome but typical twang when strumming (wound metal string) that might wear of with time. The aesthetic beauty of the instrument is wow!, I would say producing an almost moving experience just to hold it.

Owning many different kind of ukuleles already, I've been searching for a Pono ukulele that fits my ideal of what a good ukulele should be. This ukulele has not disappointed. From the moment I picked it up in the store, I knew I had to have it (even though I was there to look at another instrument). The tone was so rich and so sweet. The intonation going up the neck was great and it was very easy to play. For those who like very sweet, mellow, and deep tones, this ukulele is for you. It plays really well with a low-g. This ukulele is definitely a worthwhile purchase for anyone who is interested.
