We used to always get older Martin ukes in our repair shop and have refinished over 50 old Martin’s. We are very familiar with the old Martin ukes and this Kiwaya KTS-4 replicates the vintage Style 0 in look, sound, and feel like no other uke being made. In fact, it sounds as good as the vintage Martin’s and the wood has not even aged yet!!

Good but not my favorite 0 people found this helpfulQuality ukulele with a deep punchy sound. I purchased this to replace a Martin S-1. Comparing the two, I think the Martin is a better ukulele.

Perfection!! 0 people found this helpfulI am the proud owner of several ukuleles of all sizes ranging from inexpensive to K brand. The Kiwaya KTS-4 is by far my favorite! For a company that's been around since the 1900's, the quality definitely speaks for itself. Despite lack of fancy inlays, fret markers or gloss finish, the KTS-4 is truly built with high attention to detail. It is delicately light, with fantastic resonance! Intonation is spot on to the 12th fret, utilizing worth strings as my preference. The stock tuners worked well, however I did swap them for Gotoh UPT's for added precision. Purchased from Hawaii Music Supply, the set-up was amazing as always, with the instrument packaged to perfection prior to shipping. Thanks guys!! :-) If you're looking for a simple, high quality soprano at a reasonable price...look no further!! Kiwaya does not disappoint!

So this is what it feels like to buy a new Martin in 1930! 0 people found this helpfulI had the chance to compare my Kiwaya KTS-4 to a vintage Martin and I was impressed with how much they resemble. I actually liked the Kiwaya a little more than the Martin... Light as a feather, extremely resonant and a sheer joy to play. The pictures don't even do it justice, in real life this little ukulele is a gem of Form Follows Function. If you're looking for a classy and classic 'hog soprano, this the one!
