A PIECE OF ART YOU CAN PLAY 0 people found this helpfulThis review comes from the perspective of a beginner. First, the mahogany Pono Baritone Nui is like a piece of art. The minute I removed this Ukulele from the hard case I was blown away with the unbelievable quality and workmanship. The gloss finish is remarkably clear of any blemishes …simply stunning. I opted to have the full-set up, including the installation of a L..R. Biggs Five-0 pick-up so when I plugged it into my new Fender Acoustic 200 amp it sounded amazing. I had my first lesson this week and was able to easily learn three cords. I have large hands so I was a bit concerned about learning on a Ukulele, but the fret board on this Nui fit my hand/fingers with no problem. It sounds wonderful and in my opinion sounds like a cross between a Baritone Ukulele and a Tenor Guitar which is not a surprise. I simply can’t say enough good things about this Pono Ukulele and the folks at The Ukulele Site are amazing. I want to give a shout out to Joel and Veronica. I truly believe this Nui is worth the money given its exceptional quality.
