Gloss Mahogany Tenor Engelmann Spruce Top w/Radius Fretboard
Pictures show the exact ukulele available here.
This Pono model, like the Pro Classic tenors, has a radius fingerboard. It's hardly noticeable, but for many it adds to the comfort and playability of the instrument. On top of feeling great, this new tenor looks beautiful! A perfect gloss finish shows off the stunning quarter sawn Honduran mahogany. Rosewood binding and wood rope purfling frame off one of the favorite tonewoods of many acoustic enthusiasts: Engelmann spruce! The tonal character is sweet and clear on this wonderful ukulele. It's a joy to play and hear.

Solid build and playability 0 people found this helpfulIt’s very difficult here on the East Coast to walk into a music store and have a variety of ukuleles to choose from. So I ordered this one because I wanted a step up from my Kala SMHT, without really knowing because when you order online you just don’t know. At first, I found it a lot more heavy duty and “chunkier“ than my Kala. For example, the neck is a lot wider, with a larger radius than my color Kala, which I now realize is quite delicate. I called the company and Veronica pointed out that the neck has a truss rod which of course accounts for the bigger size than I was used to. At first, I was put off but I decided to really give it a chance and I’m glad I did. It may not be delicate but the build is really solid. It’s just different from what I was used to. After playing my instrument for a couple of weeks I find I’m really starting to love it. I love now the smooth neck and the way my hand can just move up and down, and the sound is so full and rich as well as bright, if that makes any sense. It’s really growing on me. I highly recommended in this price point, and the Pono passive pick up has great gain.

Pretty and quiet uke 0 people found this helpfulMy wife favorite ukulele....because its so quiet. Quieter than any other ukulele i have. It almost seems like it was designed to be played in a dorm or a tiny apartment. Very good build quality, hoping something changes with time and new strings.
