I bought one of these with my new Islander KSTCUT Tenor back in June. Because I was going to be travelling back to Australia with it, I wanted a hard case, instead of a gig bag. Because I bought it at the same time as the `ukulele, I got it at a discounted rate. The case itself is solid, and holds the `ukulele well. It's not as deep as the solid case I bought with my Kala tenor a couple of years ago, so the compartment in this case is not able to hold anywhere near as much stuff. That said, it does hold my strap, tuner, and humidifier, but there's not enough room for my capo as well. One reason I opted for this case over the tweed one is this one comes with a shoulder strap. This proved to be a godsend on the trip home, as I was also carrying a guitar case on top of my luggage. Being able to sling this over my shoulder made things a lot easier. I only gave it four stars for quality because it is only fitted with two clasps, instead of the usual three. Neither of the clasps are lockable. I also had to repair the lid to the inner compartment. The fabric attaching the lid to the body of the case came unglued very quickly, allowing the lid to lift completely off. However, a quick application of some tacky craft glue reattached the lid and I've had no further problems with it. Overall, I'm very happy with this case.

Just got this with my new Pono. In my 35 years of playing music this is the nicest hardshell case I've ever had. It seems like it would cost twice as much. And the brilliant design holds the body by the edges, no pressure on the bride. Very nice. The thick black vinyl shrinkwrap on the handle (not tape) makes it feel very sturdy.

I was a little unsure about getting this since I had seen some of these cases with crazy big handles on them. They appear to have fixed that issue. The handle is about 3/4" in diameter. It looks like black electrical tape is wrapped around each end of it. That seems a bit questionable. I have had no issues with it though. The bottom of he case has three round chrome feet to keep the case off of a dirty floor. The red thread for stitching around the top is a nice accent. It came with a key to lock to middle clasp on the case. The key doesn't seem to do anything. The way the handle attaches to the case might be a weak point but time will tell. The inside is real plush. It's made in Indonesia, which I view as a plus. Overall, this is a great choice for anyone looking for a hard case. If you need a shoulder carry strap, look for a different case as this doesn't have one.

Last year I tripped and fell going into my teaching class. I landed face first with all of my weight on the case. I broke my glasses, broke my shoulder, but no harm came to my Pono baritone nor the case. I am preparing to order a new Pono MTD and of course an O'ahu case with it.
