Bought at the store directly from Corey. Perfect combination of sound , quality and price. For the price you can't beat the sound you get. If you are looking for a true uke sound and don't want to break the bank by shelling out more than 1K for Hawaiian build Koa uke, look no further. And the sound gets better with time. Just don't forget to humidify the uke and change strings. Aloha.

I had this uke shipped to me in Afghanistan while deployed, and it arrived perfectly set up and ready to go. Simple and solid, it is a great value that will age well.

This little fellow (lady?) is my go-to uke and has been ever since I got it a little over a year ago . It has great intonation, action, and play-ability (kudos to HMS for their professional setup) and I've used it whenever I've performed with a ukulele. I always use it when working out a new song because it is so user-friendly and I don't have to think about technical issues. It has a sweet tone that is great for romantic ballads but is hearty enough for Dixieland/Roaring 20's. Some ukes might be great for one style but not appropriate for others but this uke sounds like it fits for just about any style of music. It's definitely worth the price. It is well constructed, cleanly assembled (no glue visible anywhere) and the satin finish is very handsome. BTW, I got mine in early 2013 when it was on sale as "Blemished". It seriously took me about 20 minutes to find the "blemish", which was a slight scratch about an inch long on the back that you have to hold up to the light just right to see - and for that this Pono beauty was just a little over 1/2 price! If you're looking for a lot of bang for your buck be sure to check out HMS's specials! Especially if this one is on sale again. Then get two!

This was my next jump from the Lanakai LU-21c I began with. While I’ll always love my first, the voice on this little soprano has me completely hooked. With the mellow mahogany paired with the set of flourocarbons that I installed, its got such a rich and articulate sound that is just so sweet and beautiful. And I’m actually completely digging the small size too, which I was unsure about, being a 6’4″ dude. And as for the craftsmanship, it feels so good and is quite easy on the eyes. And to top it all off, the fellas over at HMS just completely rock! I worked with Joel, Zach and Andrew. Helpful, humble and passionate about what they do. Thank you!

I was pleasantly surprised by how loud and rich that came out of this small uke. I took a chance thought I would install a low G string set and amazed how balanced the tone was on each string. I had tried this with other ukes that I had and was not happy with the sound. I found the peg tuners, although lighter, was difficult to tune compared with geared tuners. Over all I am very happy with the Pono MS and has become my favorite ukulele.
