Beautiful Acacia in Gloss Finish- Slotted Headstock-Radius Fretboard

This solid acacia tenor Pro Classic Model has an all solid Acacia wood body and a beautiful gloss finish. It is rich in tone and full in projection. This model has the upgraded slot headstock and comes with a deluxe wooden case. There is only a few of this model available so don't hesitate, grab one today! We guarantee you will love the sound and quality.

Pictures show the exact ukulele available here. Tobias gives us a sound sample from the same model.

Current production of this model like you see in the pictures has wi'awa wood binding and Grover 18:1 sta-tite tuners. It also has gorgeous Macassar ebony used for the bridge fingerboard and faceplate. Like all new Pro Classics from Pono has a radius fingerboard. It's hardly noticeable, but it surely adds to the comfort of play. This slight curve allows for low action and plays like a dream.

The precision workmanship, attention to detail as well as skill level of Pono's top builders is among the best in the world. Experience the New Pono!

This tenor is displayed and protected by the cleanest gloss finish yet from Pono. This glassy smooth lacquer finish is extremely strong yet just a few thousandths of an inch thick. This is the art of uninhibited protection. Also to be noted is that Pono has kept improving and I would put the beautiful look of this finish up against ANY custom shop instrument. It's as flawlessly executed as you will find.

Even though improvements have been made with each shipment, I am still shocked at the level of these new models. They honestly surprise me, the quality is so on point I would believe they were made in the Ko'olau custom shop. This is the first time I can say this. John and Noa have finally accomplished a custom shop quality instrument at a fraction of the cost.

Comes with a Black Oahu Hardshell Case.

Pono only uses solid woods, only bone nut and saddle. wood bindings, no plastics.  They have a climate controlled factory on the island of Java and diligently aim for perfection on every level. It shows!

Amazing qaulity
Stunning quality flawless workmanship and finish, great set-up ( as always from HMS ). Love that the ebony fretboard and bridge isn't basic black, has some brown color variation looks great with a little oil.
Good tone out of the box with a Ko,olau strings, but I prefer a little brighter sound and a set of Aquila Reds is a perfect match.

My first "real" Ukulele
I've been playing for about ten years now and own several Ukes of various brands and sizes in the $300 to $500 range. I'm a sucker for beautiful woods and slot heads and have been looking at the Pono ATSH Acacia Tenor for quite a while. The guys at HMS were great and patient answering questions. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the Uke and the guys even rushed it to get to me on my Birthday. I'm more than pleased with the look, feel, construction and the beautiful sound of this Uke. Thanks for a great experience.!

Great uke at a great price.
I purchased this uke while in Hawaii, but had it shipped to my home so it would be there when I returned.
This is a wonderfully constructed beautiful instrument. You can truly tell the level of pride and concern with quality construction and fit and finish are first rate.
I love the sound of acacia. Much like Koa but at a sustainable yield and more affordable cost.
I own 5 other ukes and this one is the keeper of the bunch.
Well-done Pono!

Wonderful tone
I purchased my uke while on the Big Island. I had it shipped home, and I love it.
Beautifully constructed, wonderful tone, and as pretty as any ukulele I've ever seen.
The solid acacia has a warm and yet punchy tone. The Ko'olau gold strings it came strung with are a great complement to the uke.

Service and communication wit Andrew and HMS were straightforward and easy. They answered every phone call and email promptly and shipped in two days.

I'm more than pleased!

My Upgrade: Pono ATSH - Pro Classic Acacia Tenor Slothead
I chose the Pono ATSH because it's an affordable version of Jake Shimabukuro's custom Kamaka and Aldrine Guerrero's Signature Kanile'a. I also chose acacia not only because it's the closest tone wood to Hawaiian koa, but it's more sustainable and it has its own beauty. To me, it looks like blonde Hawaiian koa. Acacia with ebony looks AWESOME. When I first opened the case, I stared at it for minutes on end and it sounds great. The gloss finish and the slotted headstock are stunning. I love it. Almost every day, I take it out of the case to look at it and play it. As it's said, a beautiful 'ukulele is a played 'ukulele. I didn't like the wound C string it came with so I changed them to D'Addario Titanium T2's, what Aldrine Guerrero uses. But they're too high tension for me so now I use PhD’s like one of my other inspirations, Daniel Ho! When I changed to PhD strings, the C string was really buzzing. I e-mailed Andrew and he informed me that making an adjustment on the truss rod should take care of it. He guided me with the adjustment and it helped! I gave Price 5 stars because Andrew gave me a deal I couldn't refuse which turned me away from my local Pono dealer and their customer service is unmatched. I gave Value 5 stars because a custom Ko'olau built with Hawaiian koa with the same features is 4 times the price so I added a Mi-Si pick-up. I gave Quality only 4 stars because it's heavy compared to Hawaiian 'K' brand tenors I've tried and the neck is thicker to my liking. But well done Pono and theukulelesite.com!
