    Pono -Pro-Classic Acacia Tenor

This is the brand new Pro Classic Acacia model from Pono. The Acacia series has been a popular choice at the shop because it plays great and sounds wonderful. They are warmer in tone than we expect for an Acacia ukulele. The build quality is right on point.

This Pro Classic model goes one step further with extra attention and details. Top and back wi'awa wood bindings and purfling frame off the beautiful acacia wood. It is finished to glassy perfection. The gloss adds to the gorgeous looks, but does not hinder tone; the AT Pro Classic has an amazing response and a full, articulate voice. This is an excellent value pro quality tenor ukulele that we think you'll love!

In the video, the AT-PC is set up in high G. This model also sounds great with a low G set up, and we will be glad to set it up that way at no extra charge. If this is your preference, please type low G in the special instructions.

This model, like all new Pro Classics from Pono, has a radius fingerboard. It's not an extreme radius, and it's hardly noticeable until pointed out. This adds to the comfort of play.

The model is displayed and protected by the cleanest gloss finish yet from Pono. This glassy smooth lacquer finish is extremely strong, yet it's just a few thousandths of an inch thick. This lets the wood really speak.

Pono only uses solid woods, only bone nut and saddle, only wood bindings, and no plastics. They have a climate controlled factory on the island of Java. They diligently aim for perfection on every level. It shows!

Comes with Hardshell Case. Photos and video are stock typical.

Most people shop with us because of the extensive quality control and final setup work we provide, at no extra cost, on all ukuleles we ship out. However, this is time consuming work and creates a delay in shipping. We now offer an "Expedited Setup" for those wanting to receive their instrument faster. See details on the Full Setup and Expedited Setup options, along with current turnaround times for each, at the link- HERE.

    Extra Options

    Comes with Hardshell Case.

One of the options for this ukulele is to trade out the Herco HE-360 included humidifier for the more expensive Oasis Ukulele Humidifier (OH-18 or OH-5+), at a discount. This is required if you live in a low humidity area (parts of California, Nevada, Arizona, etc.),or in areas with winter seasons, especially if you heat the air in your home. For more info refer to the Ukulele Care link at the bottom of this page. If you need to humidify the instrument, then you need a hard case for a humidifier to properly work. Maintain the humidifier by refilling it as needed.

    This one gets 5 Shaka's
I never purchase an instrument without seeing, feeling and hearing it live....well up until now. Used the videos to narrow my choice down and validated my choice with Zach. He confirmed this Pono along with 5.0 pickup would get the sound I was looking for. Still skeptical, my Pono came in and was exactly the sound I was looking for. This Pono sounds even better plugged in as you can here every beautiful sound. If you're looking for a mellow sound vs that typical airy twang sound, this is the Uke to get. Great sound and she gets a lot of looks. Thanks Zach!

    I love this ukulele
I purchased this ukulele about a year ago, and I love this instrument. This was my first purchase from The Ukulele Site, and was a little nervous about buying an instrument I had never seen, handled, or heard in person. The Ukulele Site demo videos for each instrument were great, and helped me finally take the plunge. And, I am glad I did. This is a wonderful ukulele; easy to play, with a comfortable neck, warm tone (I had it setup with a low G which adds to the rich, warm tone), a slight radius to the neck adds to the nice feel, beautiful Acacia wood with a flawless finish. I have purchased two more ukuleles from the Ukulele Site with similar results.

    I can't put it down!
I was in need for an instrument to play in guitar circle at school. After much research, and trials at stores I decided to buy this ukulele. It is amazing!!! It has a better tone (in my opinion) than some Koa instruments I've tried! In this price range I don't think I could have gotten a better deal. I bruised my fingers pressing too hard on the strings, because my action was so crappy on my old uke. The difference shocked me in a good way. The set-up is fantastic. There is some glue showing inside the instrument, but it's barely even noticeable. 10/10 ukulele! Thanks Guys!

High marks all around to the instrument, the manufacturer and to the folks at the Ukelele Site.
Had this instrument shipped to the mainland. Customer service was very caring and accommodating. Shipping in a very protected package, it arrived in pristine condition. This uke is an excellent value when compared to other brands, once you consider the protective hard case, free shipping and set-up. The instrument itself is beautiful beyond description. Fit and finish are meticulous and of excellent quality. The sound, intonation, sustain, all are superb and make for a very soothing and sweet instrument that demands to be played in particular ways that improve your playing towards precision and below energy. It is naturally soft-voiced but it will respond thunderously if played vigorously. Mine came with a low G and I am still trying to decide whether to keep it that way. It is really fun for playing arpeggios but it does have a bothersome but typical twang when strumming (wound metal string) that might wear of with time. The aesthetic beauty of the instrument is wow!, I would say producing an almost moving experience just to hold it.

    Amazing Uke
Owning many different kind of ukuleles already, I've been searching for a Pono ukulele that fits my ideal of what a good ukulele should be. This ukulele has not disappointed. From the moment I picked it up in the store, I knew I had to have it (even though I was there to look at another instrument). The tone was so rich and so sweet. The intonation going up the neck was great and it was very easy to play. For those who like very sweet, mellow, and deep tones, this ukulele is for you. It plays really well with a low-g. This ukulele is definitely a worthwhile purchase for anyone who is interested.

    More Than Expected
I've had my AT-PC for several months now, and every day it delivers more and more pleasure to me. The looks are simply phenomenal. The pictures on the website are great, but when I first opened the case, it was, "WOW!" As for playability, it is dynamic and warm. What more could you ask for? I got mine with the Pono pickup. It, too, sounds great, and went beyond my expectations. Other reviews on this site compliment the staff at TheUkuleleSite.com, almost to the detriment of the instruments they sell. I must add my complimentss to everyone there, from the advice before the purchase, to the set-up, to the shipping. Everything was perfect. Thank you. And I highly recommend the Pono AT-PC and TheUkuleleSite.com

    Top-notch, sounds terrific
After gathering much information on tone woods and comparing many makes and models, I recently purchased this Acacia Tenor - Pro Classic. It was a terrific choice! I don't want to put it down and when I do, I find myself just admiring it. It has beautiful grain and coloration in the wood with a fit and finish that is exceptional for a production uke. This is my second Pono Pro Classic and the quality of these instruments is top-notch. I had HMS string this with low-G and it sounds terrific! It has a wonderful, warm tone with great balance and clarity. It's a little more expensive, but definitely worth it. With expert set-up and great service, I'll be back to HMS when I have saved up enough for my next ukulele.

    Couldn't be happier
This is a beautiful, well made ukulele and it sounded incredible with the low-G. I must said that I am so glad that I took the advise from the site and went for the more expensive Pro Classic model since recently I also bought a none Pro Classic Pono thinking there can't be that much of differences but I was so wrong! The differences are night and day, the Pro Classic just sounded SO much better like a pro instrument. Highly recommended.
