This beautiful tenor was made by a luthier in San Antonio, Chade Nelson. It has a German spruce top, Wenge sides in back, and a big boomy sound we think you will love.
Wenge is an excellent tonewood that's lively and responsive, with a well-defined top and bottom end. It pairs perfectly with the German Spruce top which is probably the wood mostly rich in tradition concerning lutherie, featuring exceptional stiffness together with low density. German spruce has been referred to as the foundation of a great guitar sound and you can really hear it's projection on this ukulele.
The sound and play-ability of this unique custom tenor is certainly among the best you will find. Here Kalei goes over some of the the details and samples it for us.
Chade had built some classical guitars before falling in love with the ukulele a few years ago. You can see that in this tenor with its 12 fret to body design, Spanish heel neck joint, and French polish finish. It's built in the classical style and with an emphasis on power and resonance.
As Kalei pointed out this one has a very unique and attractive headstock design and inlay. You'll also appreciate the light blue purfling and theme with the wood inlays. Very thoughtful and artistic design from Chade on this one.
