Since 1972, Bruce Petros has been building unique, custom, handmade instruments for discerning players and collectors. Matthew Petros has been building alongside his father since the year 2000. Building on a 40 year legacy of guitar making, they began building Ukuleles in 2012 and have fallen in love with the instrument, the people and the process.
This custom tenor is light in weight and with a resonance that will astound you. The top is Englemann spruce which is known for its warm bass response and great projection. Tonally, Englemann falls between European spruce and cedar, and it pairs wonderfully with this lovely Cocobolo. This is a dense, stiff tropical hardwood with a full bright tone. Sonically, it's similar to koa, but resonates a little deeper on the low end. This wood combo in the hands of a master luthier makes for a truly special instrument you see here.
Bound with Cherry and adorned with wood and shell inlays, this tenor is truly an ultimate experience for those looking for the finest in feel, look, and sound. Other noteworthy features include: Buffalo bone nut, saddle, and etched bone bridge cover, custom Rubner tuners, and an etched maple end pin.
We are more amazed than ever with the quality and tone of this Petros custom tenor. Experience it for yourself!
