Just in! Every year we get a small batch of customs from Luis Feu de Mesquita, a master luthier in Ontario, Canada, and they are always very musical.
This stunning tenor just arrived. Take a listen as Corey and Mika sample and review this new custom. So powerful and rich in harmonic overtones! We give LFDM our highest recommendations.
The design of this tenor is unique to Luis with the Maccaferri or gypsy jazz guitar body shape, and tapered headstock, but with a round soundhole and a beautiful arm bevel for extra comfort.
The bracing (inside the body) is what you call "lattice". This is a modern classical bracing known for its strong projection. The voice is both strong and sweet with extremely warm tone and excellent resonance across all frequencies.
This instrument has beautiful tonewoods including a simply gorgeous sinker redwood top accented with a birdseye maple rosette. The sides and back are quilted maple. The birdseye maple is also used at the faceplate and end graft.
Ebony wood binding frames off the instrument and it's protected with a gloss finish. Luis uses a more environmentally friendly water-based finish and it's not as cosmetically perfect as some of the custom nitro finishes, but it's a great protective finish and shows off the wood wonderfully. And as you can hear, it does not inhibit the phenomenal tone this tenor has.
The is a special instrument with a wonderful feel, look, and tone. Includes Oahu hard case and Humistat humidifier, upgradable in the options on this page.
This is one of 6 LFDM we just received for 2020. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this awesome instrument.
