This custom tenor was built by master luthier Luis Feu de Mesquita in Ontario, Canada. Woods include a top grade symmetrical bearclaw spruce top. Bearclaw Siika spruce has a shallow, cross-grain curl that seems to increase cross-grain stiffness, enhancing the tone and sustain of spruce. Strong, focused tone with strong fundamental. This is paired with a Hawaiian Koa back and sides in a cutaway body style. Framed off with ebony and a stunning Brazilian ebony. The result is a classy look and a light weight superb feel.
The bracing inside though is what you call "lattice". This is a modern classical bracing known for it's strong projection. The voice is both strong and sweet with a full balance across all frequencies. On top of that you get an amazing feel with a "Laskin" arm bevel. So comfortable to hold and play! So powerful and rich in harmonic overtones! We give this beauty our highest recommendations.
Take a listen to this "dry" sound sample from this beautiful new custom tenor made with the rare and beautiful new custom tenor.
Luis recently changed to a new water based finish that looks awesome! This clear and glassy finish protects one of the most beautiful ukes we've gotten in. Another cosmetic change is the classic round soundhole when Luis previously did a D shaped soundhole. Perhaps this helps with tone as well because this batch of ukes sound awesome!
Includes Oahu hard case and herco humidifier (upgradable in the options on this page).
We will not have any more LFDM's for many months, so don't miss this opportunity to experience a unique and truly special instrument.
