Here in Hawai'i I'iwi is among the most highly-regarded custom instruments you can get. For the last 20 years the majority have gone off to Japan but we are truly excited to start showing you many more I'iwi ukuleles. Not because they are made in Hawaii and feature beautiful woods and designs, but because they sound SO great!
The design on this tenor with its three small sound holes lends itself to the rich guitar-like tones many of us love to hear. This is what Hawaii's top custom builders usually aim for: a big, warm yet clear and projecting sound that sings. As each of us played this instrument we were all super impressed. It's such a treat in every way.
Charlie Fukuba is a musician first and foremost and he builds for tone. His craftsmanship is excellent and the wood is beautiful, but we love I'iwi for the tone. Such a warm, clear sound that plays true all the way up the neck.
Our sound samples are recorded for true reference and have no alteration or enhancement. Use quality playback for the most accurate listening.
Pictures and video show the exact instrument now available! A super amazing tenor!
