***25 Year Custom Koa I'iwi Tenor ***
This is a one of a kind koa tenor from Charlie to commemorate 25 years of ukulele building. The looks are awesome with stunning curly koa and the fretmarkers are Roman numerals in abalone and 25 (XXV) at the 15th.
This is the first tenor of a new series from Charles Fukuba. The 1879 series pays tribute to the three fathers of the Hawaiian Ukulele, Augusto Dias , Jose Espírito Santo and Manuel Nunes who arrived to Honolulu in 1879 during the reign of King David Kalakaua. These three went on to be the very first ukulele makers and the king and community embraced this new little four string guitar.
Mika gives us a sound sample.
This tenor has ebony binding with a bound black and white ebony bound soundport and end graft. Other things to note is comfortable feel and spot on neck angle and setup (nice low action). Plus you get the long-term stability of a graphite rod in the neck and Charlie's new mortise and tenon bolt on joint. It also has a hand-rubbed gloss finish and Gotoh UPT tuners.
Charlie's a musician and he builds for tone. With I'iwi you get a warm, clear sound that plays true all the way up the neck. This one sounds incredible!
Our package includes a deluxe wooden hard case and Oasis humidifier.
