This is quite the value. Wonderful tone just like the laminate roots series tenor but even stronger and cleaner in projection. The pickup is fantastic as well. Fishman® Kula system with preamp and built in digital tuner. Great live or recording. This is a great choice highly recommended by all our staff. Get one while they're in!

Great value, great tone!
Just like the rest of the Roots series, this Gretsch Tenor looks and sounds great. This CE version has a solid mahogany top, and has a very warm sound with good projection. This is my go-to ukulele for gigging and playing outdoors, or other situations where I wouldn't want to take an expensive uke. The pickup and cutaway add to its value as a performance uke as well.

You really can't beat the price on this one, and if you like that warm, traditional mahogany tone, this one should be on your list.

Gretsch scores with me!
I bought this based on some discussion on the Ukulele Underground Forum and then the rave review on this web site. Boy am I glad I listened. Buying this beautiful yet inexpensive uke has really made me a happy boy lately.

I currently own four other ukuleles but this has become my favorite even though not nearly the most expensive. I'm not that good at describing the sound of an instrument so I'll just call it sweet and mellow but with some punch. And amped it sounds terrific.

Oh and did I mention it's beautiful.

It's all I want to play these days and I'm playing it a lot. It's very easy to play and some of that I'm sure is the outstanding setup done by HMS. I just can't say enough good things about this Gretsch and HMS. What you get for the money is hard to believe.
