Barron River ukuleles are made by Allen McFarlen in Cairns, Australia. We were originally impressed by his soprano and this concert exceeded them again. This one has a beautiful bearclaw spruce top, Australian blackwood sides, back, and neck. Fret board, peg head veneers, and bindings are all gidgee, and Australian hardwood known for it's stability. Fret markers are Huon Pine, a Tasmanian wood. So Allen is using local sources and this a wonderful concert ukulele that sounds fantastic. Take a listen.
Our sound samples are recorded for true reference and have no alteration or enhancement. Use quality playback for the most accurate listening.
This custom concert has some upgrades including the figure wood and gloss finish. The back and sides are made of Tasmanian blackwood, an acacia wood species that’s a close cousin of Hawaiian koa. It has a a fairly slim neck profile with low action and great playability.
Includes a canvas covered hard case and Herco humidifier. Both are upgradable in the options.
