Pepe Romero has a new line of fluorocarbon strings that we think you'll love. This set is for tenor ukulele and in the options you can choose from an all plain high G set or a wound 4th with a smooth wound bronze wrapped low G.
The low G string is from LaBella and the fluorocarbons are from a Japanese manufacturer. Pepe has been trying various fluorocarbon strings from different makers for the past few years before he started sampling various tensions and diameters directly from the factories. He made this set to suit his taste and we think it sounds and feels great. We'll be putting up more samples including the high G set but here is a sound sample of one of Pepe's last ukes with the low G set sold here.
"I am very proud to bring Pepe Romero Strings to the public. I am blessed to do what I love to do, build Spanish guitars and Ukuleles. I grew up in a family who lives and breathes the Spanish guitar, a family in love with beautiful, romantic music. Through instrument building I have been able to translate my love for beautiful tone and now I am able to take it a step further with my own strings. After much research and testing, I have paired Japanese fluorocarbon treble strings with La Bella's American made wound strings to create these special string sets. They have made my own instruments sound more powerful, have more sustain, more clarity and tonal beauty than ever before. Now these strings are available to everyone!" Pepe Romero
