Being less than a mile away from Ko’olau/Pono factory is so convenient for us. We all agree and truly believe that you can't find a better tenor for this price!

This is an amazing new price point for a pro level ukulele with all solid woods and beautiful tones. Ko'olau just got this model back in stock after being out for months and we are excited to again offer an instrument at this level of quality AND affordability! Made from all solid quarter sawn mahogany, the MT produces a very clean and full sound. It has plenty of volume and punch, but really accentuates the sweet tones that make the ukulele so wonderful. The sustain and fullness in the high register are amongst the best you will find. We are positive that you will fall in love with the sound look and feel of this tenor ukulele.

The Pono MT has a bone nut and saddle, Ko'olau geared tuning keys, and a dual action truss rod for adjusting the neck. These are features that no other company is offering in this price range! But just looking at the "specs" won't really tell you how good an ukulele is. The great thing about this instrument is the sound and feel. It has a sound that would rival the most expensive ukes on the market, and after we are done with a final setup the ease of play is spot on. This is exactly what every player needs to become passionate about playing. If you were considering a tenor in this price range, this may very well be the best option you will find. The MT is a simple look with less "frills" than other pono models. But it has the same great tone. The Pono MT is the starting point for someone in search of a professional grade tenor ukulele.

Ko’olau now only include their hard case with the Pro-Classic Pono series. You can still have that package with a deluxe wooden case. You can trim down the price with the UkeCrazy hard case. Also, the Cordoba gig bags are so nice we started buying them separate. So any of these three are options. Just contact us with any difficulties purchasing or deciding. Simple with beautiful tone! The Pono MT. We always include a humidifier with solid wood instruments. This is not an option, and we do not charge for it.

A key feature in all of the Pono tenor and baritone models is the dual-action adjustable truss rod. This is used to stabilize and adjust the lengthwise forward curvature (also called relief), of the neck. It can be adjusted from right inside the soundhole with an allen wrench provided. This is something you will probably not need to adjust. But over time and with humidity changes, it is a very useful option to have, and a very easy thing to adjust with little room for error.

Extra Options One of the options for this ukulele is to trade out the Herco, included humidifier, for the more expensive Oasis Ukulele Humidifier (OH-18). This is suggested if you live in a low humidity area.(parts of California, Nevada, Arizona, etc..) including cold winter areas if you are heating the air most of the day and night.
