This is an incredible uke. Aaron sums it nicely in his review. It's woody but also bright at the same time, a perfect combination. It has deep resonant tones yet also nice bright highs. Pono construction quality is excellent. One big change I made was to replace the Mahana wound 3rd strings with Aquila plain. For me, it's much easier on my fingers and I find the tone much more resonant and brighter. I find I'm more creative when a uke is easier to play. It's just plain easier to strum! Lastly, HMS setup was right on the money, really well done.
