Product Review (submitted on December 23, 2012):
I purchased the Pono because of the brand name. Since I do not live near any ukulele shops, and had to rely on the internet to hear the sound, the decision was hard. It was between this and the islander. I own a solid koa Lanikai and have been playing one year, so I feel I am a novice at hearing subtilities in different ukuleles. The mahogany holds the sound longer and is louder and i like it for certain songs. The pono has a flawless satin finish and has a nice feel. Unlike my Lanikai, it did not need any adjustments upon arrival. I think this was a good decision and I am very happy with my Pono.
