For the past few years this has been one of the best seller for us in the store, and one we recommend online all the time because it sounds great. The tone along with the overall build quality and value is very impressive. Take a listen as Kalei gives us a "raw" sound sample.

Features on this tenor ukulele include a solid sitka spruce top with a simple ring rosette, body and fretboard binding, and a beautiful gloss finish. Great looks and excellent tone at an affordable price. That's why we love the STG model!

A crucial part of this value is the time and expertise we put into it before shipping. Our custom setup includes lowering the action, planing and re-crowning the frets and other processes that greatly improve the instruments playability. If you are looking around $200 this is one comes with our highest recommendation.

Love my Kala STG. Had it for about 2yrs. Gorgeous, richly crafted, beautiful tones, hardly needs retuning between use. You won’t be sorry.

I must say that this is my first ukulele purchase, but my experience with this ukulele has been amazing from start to finish. The finish is beautiful, the color on the one I got is a little lighter than the one in the picture but still stunning. The part that really is great is the sound, for the price I would say that it is probably the best choice out there and it matches the sound of my friends which cost about twice as much. The only down side (which this is my fault but I thought I would add it just in case) is that if it is broken, in other words if the face is swung against an arm chair *AHEM THANKS FRIEND* and the face is dented or warped the soud quality of the entire instrument drops and the resonance is not near as clear or rich. Over all this uke is amazing and I can only recomend it!

The Uke is beautiful. The set up is so so good. I played this uke elsewhere without a set-up, and it was good. Now, it is great.

This is a great Ukulele! It is beautiful, well constructed, loud and sounds fantastic. It is my first Uke so I don't have a lot of experience, other than the ones I played at a chain store, but this Uke feels and sounds great and I can't put it down. I have had it two weeks and it just keeps getting better. Everyone in my family is picking it up and playing it as well! I have a feeling that there are more Ukes. in my families future. The set up is fantastic. Action is low, there is absolutely no buzzing and the intonation is good up to the 12th fret. If you are looking for a great tenor under $200 it is hard to imagine anyone not liking this Ukulele. And it is much prettier than the pictures!

I've been a drummer for a very long time and understand that, when it comes to instruments, you get what you pay for. I got a cheap ukulele for free about a month before I ordered my Kala spruce top tenor. It was terrible - again you get what you pay for. I am extremely happy with my Kala. It is a beautiful instrument in appearance as well as sound. I ordered a hard case with it and recommend everyone investing in anything but a cheap instrument do the same. Having a good sounding instrument is a boon to practicing. I rarely miss a day's practice and once I begin, I'm able to focus and spend some serious quality time playing because the sound is so enjoyable. So far, I'm having difficulty getting volume out of the uke while just strumming with my fingers, but if I use a pick the volume picks up significantly. If I do any finger picking the volume drops back down. At this I think it's probably my technique that is lacking rather than there being some shortcoming in the instrument. In summary, it is a beautiful instrument and I can recommend it wholeheartedly. One more thought, consider having it delivered to the local FedEx office rather than your home address - you have to personally sign for the package, so unless you are absolutely sure that you will be at home when the truck shows up you will have to go to their office anyway - and then your uke will have spent the day travelling around in the back of a hot truck.
