So what is the difference between satin and gloss? Besides the look there is a more "woody" tone from the satin finish. Especially from Kanilea because it is an oil finish that protects the wood but gives no compression to the overall vibration. What you have is a very open and vibrant instrument. With the Kanilea company, either finish you pick, you will get a very open and vibrant tone. Either way you can't go wrong, but they are slightly different and both have their own advantages. The gloss is more resilient to scratching if you strum hard. Though the Kanilea satin is able to be touched up easier if it does scratch. No matter what the specs are, each instrument is individual, and this particular one sounds amazingly awesome!
