Kamaka HP-1
The guitar has a waist to sit in your lap, but with the pineapple shape you are not gonna miss out on anything you get from the waist on a standard ukulele. What you get is a little more soundboard to open the vibration of the top in essentially the same size instrument. This rare model just came to us for the first time and it's got a wonderful tone similiar to the regular Pineapple but with a little more punch and brightness. This pairs beautifully with the pineaaple shape because it naturally has a deep sound! This instrument is about as pro level in sound and range as you will get to fit into a soprano case. 14 fret to the body concert scale and soprano pineapple body makes for a sensational Kamaka Ukulele!
These gorgeous instruments are made right in Hawaii with a consistency of excellence. The sound and design of the Kamaka Pineapple is what really put Kamaka a notch above the competition just as ukulele started to be built on the islands. In 1928 Samuel Kamaka patented the Pineapple shaped ukulele. Sometime in the 1940′s the patent ran out but they were the only company out of 20 ukulele manufacturers to survive the 1930′s economy. Last year they started making this Pineapple longneck and their are only a few out there. With this tone it is sure to become a popular model.
