    Options

This ukulele has a solid top so one of the options for this ukulele is to trade out the Herco HE-360, included humidifier, for the more expensive Oasis Ukulele Humidifier (OH-18) at a discount. This is required when you have a solid wood instrument if you live in a low humidity area.(parts of California, Nevada, Arizona, etc..) or also in an area with winter seasons, especially if you are heating the air in your house. For more info refer to the ukulele care link at the bottom of this page. If you think you need to humidify the instrument, then you also need a hard case for a humidifier to properly work, and you need to maintain the humidifier by refilling it as needed.

    awesome, fun
I wouldn't consider myself and expert by any means. I've been reading everyone's reviews. . I keep reading " Can't put it down." That is exactly how it is, I can't put it down. Its sound is crisp. Its fun to play. Love the size and the gig bag that came with it...

    Fantastic sound and feel
This was my second uke. Love the tone and volume from the comfortable thin body. Bought a more expensive Fender for its visual beauty as this one is plain jane, but the Fender can't hold a candle to this one for playability and ease of tuning. Warning on fenders that telestock crown has almost no room for a clip on tuner and the high gloss or something interferes as well. The kala tunes great and once Aquila strings stretched really stays in tune! Can't recommend more highly! Just with they made prettier options available too!

such a positive surprise, just brilliant in tone and playability
this is by far my favorite uke ( and the cheapest I have ), so easy to play and so very punchy, also as it is so flat, easy to place fingers in the right spots when practicing, was bought and set up by The Ukulele Site and posted to the UK, thanks.

Certainly satisfied with this awesome uke!
I was told by my cousin that these thin body ukes were pretty amazing given that the size was so much different than the normal full body ukulele. All I can say is boy was he correct! He is a pretty advanced player of the instrument so I knew he knew what he was talking about. I'd consider myself an intermediate player, and I lost the urge to pick up and play my old ukulele. But ever since I bought this one, I can't put it down! Awesome product and sound is so full. I don't think i'll ever put this ukulele in my closet like I did my old one. When I went in to The Ukulele Site store in Haleiwa, I bought the very last one in the store and I am so happy that I did!

A Fun uke to jam with
I perform out on a regular basis with my Mando and a couple of ukes. Ths one is just plain fun to use. I have a decent pickup installed, and use a bunch of stomp boxes and a wireless unit. It's allowed me to jump out in front as a lead guitar player, with a great, agile instrument. Don't be scared by the thin size. This thing sounds HUGE. Gave one to my friend who insisted on learning guitar, and refused to take a uke seriously. He can't put this thing down. Wish it was sold with a pickup option.

Playing typical 70's and 80's style rock, with a wound G Aguila set.

Shocked at the one I saw at our local retail dealer.
I know I'm the odd review out, but I think this is important to share.

I could not believe the uke that I saw was on the floor of our local dealer! The action was obscenely high because the thin body was actually warping forward because of the tension of the strings.
Certainly I saw an anomalous particularly bad instrument, (I live in the Pacific NW which may also be hard on instruments with the moisture and forced heat). Perhaps this situation wasn't being improved any by our local store seemingly not attempting to remedy the uke,..

However, seeing the state of that travel uke totally scared me away from the thin body concept. Sorry.

The price on the uke site seems very good, and I totally trust their set up process to send off a solid instrument. For sure that should be very reassuring to those still interested, and may make all the difference.

Still... guess what,.. a ukulele is "travel sized" by it's nature!! Get a good concert or soprano, even tenors aren't that big in their normal dimensions.

    Sweet for camping (et al)
I thought this uke would be a disappointment, but was I wrong - I picked it up at a store and it played loud and sweet. No adjustments to action required, nicely in tune, easy on the fingers. The beautiful arched shape of the back makes up for any "travel" instrument cliche's you might expect, and nice, embroidered case is perfect for camping (how many people buy a uke on a camping holiday?, well I did!).

Price is right, sale price even better.

    Travel with this awesome ukulele
This travel size ukulele sounds fabulous. When I first saw it I was wondering why it was so skinny but it's a travel size ukulele. When I started playing this ukulele I could not let go of it because the sound was just so different and it was my style of playing. I love this ukulele and it's sounds great with other ukuleles as well.

    Travel ukulele
This ukulele is my favorite. It's really light and skinny. The sound sounds nice when your jamming with other ukuleles. The best part about this ukulele is that it's travel size and perfect when traveling place to place.

    Excellent mobile uke!
This is one excellent take-about ukulele you can bring around without being too bothered about the weight and size. And definitely one that you can safely keep in the car all year round and not worry about it. Because having done so for two years, it still plays excellent, and never (well, almost) gets out of tune!

Fits well in your hands, and is incredibly loud for its size. One of the best travel uke you can find at this price range, and just made better by HMS' custom setup.

So much richer than it looks!
This travel model has such a rich sound, and is easily packed for on the go! I love this thing, and play it every chance I get. I have a couple other tenors, by different makers, and the playability, and sound of this match just about anything I have picked up. I thought it might be a bit difficult getting used to the thin body, but it really was not. It's a lovely instrument!
