Just in from custom ukulele maker Mike DaSilva in Northern California; a Thin-Body Tenor with a spruce top and gorgeous curly koa sides and back and a gloss finish. Very attractive and very easy to play but It's best feature is the super sweet tone.
This is a great design from one of the uke world's finest custom builders. Wonderful projection and a very musical balance of clarity and warmth. This slightly thinner body seems to work perfect with Mike's sound. The UV cured hand rubbed gloss finish is done with precision to offer protection without inhibiting sound. It is very light in weight and a joy to play.
This comes with the elegant and practical PegHed tuners that appear to be friction wood pegs, but are a planetary 4:1 ratio gear tuners for a locking hold and precision tuning. This tenor is very light in weight and overall a complete joy to play. We waited many months for this to come in so act now and get our first DaSilva thin body tenor. We are extremely proud to offer such an artistic achievement in ukulele design.
'The thin-body tenors I build tend to project sound very well. It can also eliminate the boominess found in a full depth tenor. They are very comfortable to play for as the decreased depth places the top very close to your body.' - Mike DaSliva
