Mr. Loprinzi, a custom builder located in Florida, is one of the world's best luthiers, and we have one of his finest and most original creations!

 

LoPrinzi is known in the high end guitar market for his excellent quality and tone. After being commissioned by Herb Ohta Jr, Augustino built his first ukulele. Herb loved it and over the past few years has become enamored with the challenge of getting lavish tone on an smaller instrument. This model is the Nova only seen before in Mahogany. Loprinzi made a koa model for this years NAMM and we loved the sound. It looks very unique with the two ports cut outs like he magically scooped them out with a spoon. What this produces is a very clean projection without mudiness. Just like a speaker cabinet, the closed off inclosure can give bassier tones that get muddy. An open back speaker cabinet has much more clarity and attack. This Loprinzi is full and extremely balanced. It would be one of the most choice to take to a studio. The Nova, which means new, is exactly that. This is not just a great instrument, but a creative original from a true luthier.
